Leah Coloff performs the Tibet House Concert at Carnegie Hall

Sharing the stage with the likes of David Bowie, Laurie Anderson, Lou Reed, and a bunch of Tibetan monks, Leah (in her capacity as cellist for the Scorchio electric string quartet) lent her bow to the 13th annual Tibet House benefit. The concert, organized by Philip Glass, included performances by Rufus Wainwright, Ray Davies Angelique Kidjo, Tsering Wangmo, and Ziggy Marley. Through much of the evening, Leah worked her saw-limbed magic for a full house of Tibetan culture enthusiasts.

The Tibet House is a non-profit dedicated to the proposition that the wisdom and arts of all human civilizations vitally enrich the emerging global culture.Within this, they focus on a special concern for Tibet, its people, its spectacular highlands, and its civilization of extraordinary wisdom and beauty. By presenting Tibetan civilization, its profound wisdom and special art of freedom, to the people of the world, they hope to inspire them to join the effort to save it.
